Advanced Placement Testing Policy Worksheets

Advanced Placement (AP) Test Policy 2020-2021

Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College grant credit for College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Tests toward Associate Degree General Education requirements, California State University General Education (CSU GE) Certification, and Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) Certification.

SMCCCD applies external exam credit to associate degree general education requirements in the same manner as CSU applies external exam credit to CSU general education requirements. The following list of College Board Advanced Placement Tests indicates the applicability of the AP results. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AP RESULTS APPLY TO GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS ONLY. To receive credit, a score of 3, 4, or 5 is required, and students must submit an official copy of the test score to the Admissions and Records Office and request a SMCCCD Transcript Evaluation (TES) at www.smccd.edu/transeval. The TES evaluation result will appear on WEBSMART Degree Works Audit. (see additional information in this catalog on External Examinations (AP, IB, CLEP)
