Course Description

Equivalent to MUS. 115. An introduction to the understanding and appreciation of the parallels of art and music throughout history. An investigation into the elements of art and music equip the student to see and hear with greater discrimination, as well as recognize the importance of the sociological, political, and philosophical ideas as they are reflected in the arts. Lectures are illustrated with slides, recordings, and films. Attendance at a live performance and a museum visit are required.
