Program Overview

This can be one of the most dynamic careers in the administrative field. This program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge associated with the practice of law. Career opportunities are available with small and large legal firms, legal departments of large corporations, and government agencies dealing with the legal system. Students develop an understanding of typical civil and administrative procedures and learn about case docketing and calendaring management. Students also learn how to use the Internet for legal research, prepare correspondence, and legal documents including California Judicial Council forms. Organizational and communications skills are developed along with competency with legal terminology and drafting of legal documents.
