Program Overview

The Paralegal, Legal Assistant Associate degree and Paralegal, Legal Assistant certificate programs prepare students for careers as paralegals, legal assistants, and legal support service workers in a variety of settings.

LEGL 671 Paralegal Internship I 4 units
COOP 670 Vocational Cooperative Education 1 or 4 units
Plus a selection of 6 units from the following: Units

LEGL 260 Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis II 3 units
LEGL 275 Constitutional Law, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties 3 units
LEGL 304 Concepts of Criminal Law 3 units
LEGL 306 Legal Aspects of Evidence 3 units
LEGL 320 Criminal Investigation 3 units
LEGL 354 Civil Litigation II 3 units
Plus General Education and other requirements for the Associate degree (refer to Associate Degree Requirements).
Total Required Major Units: 29 - 32

And required General Education coursework and electives as needed to meet the minimum 60 units required for the Associate degree.
