General Education and Degree Requirement Worksheets 2025-2026
California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)
Cal-GETC is a general education pattern comprised of a series of courses that California community college students can complete to satisfy freshman/sophomore-level general education requirements before transferring to a California State University (CSU) or the University of California (UC). It is composed of a minimum of 34 units of coursework in 6 different subject areas. Cal-GETC is the singular general education pathway for California Community College students to fulfill lower-division general education requirements necessary for transfer and admission to both the CSU and the UC. The pattern also is required to meet general education requirements for all Associate Degrees for Transfer, and can be used to meet general education requirements for local degrees.
Students with catalog rights to the CSU GE and IGETC GE patterns can continue to use one of those patterns to complete their degree as long as they maintain continuous enrollment by attending at least one semester in an academic year. Please refer to the “Catalog Rights” section for more information.
