Course Description
Introduction to the tools and methods of astronomy and understanding of the scientific
process. Introduction to the celestial sphere, scale model solar system, telescopic
observations, use of computer models, comparative planetology, and astronomical data
representation.

Prerequisites: Completion of, or concurrent enrollment in ASTR 100 or 115 or 125 (ASTR 115 and 125
are offered at College of San Mateo). Successful completion of Elementary Algebra
or equivalent, or placement by other measures as applicable.
