Course Description

A survey of theatre arts throughout the ages: Ancient Greek, Medieval, Renaissance, Neoclassical, Modern, and Contemporary. This course explores major developments in theatre from centuries past within its cultural, political and social context. The course covers canonical plays and famous theatrical figures as well as theatre and stage design to explore theatre’s dynamic role throughout history and today.
