Program Overview

The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is designed for students who wish to pursue broad areas of knowledge in specific interest areas. This degree is designed for students who wish to explore different disciplines (subject areas) before deciding on a definite major program prior to transferring to a four-year university, or for students who may not be planning to transfer but wish to earn a degree in a particular area of study that interests them. Students earning this AA degree analyze and evaluate the ways in which people from different cultures have expressed themselves through the Arts and Humanities.

Courses should be chosen carefully in consultation with a counselor.


A. Complete 18 units in the Arts & Humanities areas as shown below.


B. The remaining units should be chosen in consultation with a counselor to fulfill Associate Degree General Education requirements and electives for a total of 60 degree-applicable units for an Associate Degree.
