Learning Communities

Learning communities are linked classes: the same group of students take two or more classes with the same instructors. The professors work together to ensure common themes in class assignments and activities, as well as priority access to academic counseling. Learning communities also assist students with accessing campus and community services.

Students who are enrolled in learning communities are more likely to succeed academically. Learning communities foster a tight knit relationship between faculty and students. Join a learning community, receive extra support and make friends for a lifetime!

You can see a list of current learning communities in WebSCHEDULE: select an academic term to search > select “Advanced Search” > then scroll down to the list of “Special Programs & Learning Communities.” Your academic counselor can help you identify which Learning Communities might be of most interest to you. Students are also welcome to reach out to learning communities by searching for their contact information in our District Directory or searching for them on our college website.
