The San Mateo County Consortium for Adult & Career Education (SMCCACE) is one of 71 regional consortia across California funded by the California Adult Education Program (CAEP). SMCCACE is a collaborative partnership of adult schools, community colleges, and community-based organizations working together to expand access to high-quality adult education and workforce training throughout San Mateo County.

Our mission is to support adults in gaining the skills they need to succeed—whether that means learning English, earning a high school diploma or equivalency, completing job training, or transitioning to college or the workforce. Through coordinated services, aligned programs, and shared resources, SMCCACE creates clear, supported pathways that meet the unique needs of adult learners from all walks of life.

We are driven by a commitment to equity, inclusion, innovation, and collaboration, and we work to ensure that every adult in San Mateo County has the opportunity to reach their educational, career, and personal goals.
